Stüker Möbelteile implements enterprise software based on Nuclos Open Source ERP

– Industry solution for flexible processes in the woodworking industry Mobiles

– Customer information system: Nuclos iPhone client in pilot use

Sauerlach, December 22, 2015 – Stüker Möbelteile GmbH has implemented enterprise software based on the open source ERP toolkit Nuclos (www.nuclos.de). The wood processing company manufactures tables and furniture parts on commission for major furniture brands. With the new solution, Stüker controls core processes from incoming orders, material and warehouse planning through to production, picking and delivery. The company benefits from cost savings through better production planning, which means that the investment in the ERP system will pay for itself in just one year. In addition, Stüker can now implement custom-made products according to individual customer requirements more efficiently.

Individuality in the standard

Stüker produces dining, living, couch and writing tables in series in quantities of 100 to 1,000. The trend towards individualized production does not stop at furniture series production. Deviations from the standard such as special dimensions (length, width or height) or varying color requests require flexible planning and adaptation of the production process. With the old system, which only had a fixed article master with parts lists, this was only possible with a great deal of effort and risk of error. In Nuclos, on the other hand, parts lists are mapped generically and stored with the corresponding formulas and dependencies. They can therefore be easily adapted to special requirements. This means that items and the associated parts lists and production instructions are only generated when the order is placed. If, for example, the table length changes, Nuclos automatically modifies all subsequent work steps. This minimizes errors in work preparation and improves work planning.

High process transparency

By combining orders and calculating lengths, areas and offcuts, material requirements can also be accurately predicted and stock management optimized. If a specific customer request, for example a special paint finish, requires a new stock item, Nuclos generates this automatically and issues a corresponding procurement order. “Nuclos saves us an enormous amount of time by automating processes that we previously had to do manually. This reduces errors, for example during data entry, and time-consuming error corrections,” says Hermann Stüker, Managing Director of Stüker Möbelteile GmbH. “Our customers also benefit from a high level of process transparency: with the Nuclos iPhone client, we can now answer queries regarding the production status of certain orders quickly and from anywhere.”
