PolyMedics opts for Nuclos Open Source ERP
Integrated system for order processing and sales based on the
ERP modular system replaces previous development basis with ERP modular system
Sauerlach (Munich), July 18, 2013 – PolyMedics Innovations GmbH, an international manufacturer of medical products, works with the open source ERP toolkit Nuclos(www.nuclos.de). With a customized software solution based on Nuclos, the company manages its entire order processing from incoming goods to warehouse management and worldwide delivery logistics. The foreign branches and the sales department are also integrated into the system. In addition to the high flexibility and independence of an open source solution, PolyMedics was convinced by the possibility of flexibly mapping ERP and CRM functionalities on a central platform with Nuclos. Today, the company benefits from the high quality of the data as well as time savings in the transparent documentation of business processes, for example in the case of evidence for industry or product-specific audits. In addition, order processing times have been reduced to a third, which also benefits customers.
Decisive deviations from the standard
The ERP toolkit offers companies an unencumbered platform on which they can map their business processes step by step and thus create their individual business software – ideally without the need for an external service provider. This makes the solution particularly suitable for small companies without a complex IT infrastructure and their own IT department. Deviations from the standard, which give the user a decisive competitive advantage, can be implemented easily and above all cost-effectively with Nuclos. The software adapts to the company’s requirements according to the modular principle and not vice versa. There is no unnecessary ballast, as only what is needed is implemented. If necessary, the solution grows just as easily with new requirements.
“We are a small, highly specialized company with individual workflows and international business activities. The requirements for our business software, which has to support our processes and specifications, are just as special, for example when delivering Class 3 medical devices abroad,” says Max Fröhlich, project manager at PolyMedics. “Conventional standard software was far too rigid for our requirements, and powerful ERP software was too oversized and expensive. With Nuclos, we have implemented a solution that offers us customizable functionality, flexibility, transparency and cost efficiency.”
