Open Source ERP: Nuclos Version 2.6 now online
Multidimensional authorizations and easier import of inventory data
Sauerlach (Munich), December 08, 2010 – The latest version of the open source ERP construction kit Nuclos(www.nuclos.de) is now available for free download. With Nuclos, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) can implement individual ERP solutions (Nuclets) quickly and cost-effectively. In version 2.6, Novabit Informationssysteme GmbH has integrated new features to support complex, multi-dimensional and hierarchical authorization requirements, simplified import of master and transaction data from existing systems into Nuclos and a range of additional convenience functions.
The most important new features of Nuclos 2.6 at a glance
Multidimensional and hierarchical authorization concept for mapping complex authorization requirements across freely definable dimensions (e.g. product lines, projects, etc.) and along freely definable hierarchies (e.g. regions, branches, departments, etc.)
Intuitive configuration of process step or status-dependent authorizations at field level for each user group and mandatory fields in a clear selection matrix. In particular, business rules no longer need to be defined for the definition of status-dependent mandatory fields.
Improved generic import functions to support data migrations from existing systems (e.g. standard ERP systems, MS Excel spreadsheets, etc.) or for easy implementation of regular data transfers (e.g. import of data from CRM systems, web stores, etc.)
Convenient assignment and allocation of data via drag & drop, e.g. of articles to an order, different orders to a group or orders to an invoice.
Integration of an image component, e.g. for article images in merchandise management or personal photos in personnel administration or customer relationship management.
Simple updating of existing Nuclos installations
With “Nuclet Transfer”, which is already integrated into the free open source ERP toolkit, users can easily transfer their Nuclets to other Nuclos installations or update Nuclos itself at any time (see graphic). Companies already using Nuclos can therefore simply continue to run their Nuclets on the new version. The new features are directly available for use in existing Nuclets after the update. As part of the Nuclos subscription (www.nuclos.de/subscription), Novabit offers support for questions in the Nuclos forum and additional online training for using the new features.
