Sauerlach, March 30, 2017 – ARCD Auto- und Reiseclub Deutschland e. V. has implemented a membership management system based on the open source ERP toolkit Nuclos (www.nuclos.de) – and benefits from consistent and automated processes as a result. The standardized platform maps all of the association’s processes – from membership applications and contribution management to the provision of comprehensive services. The employees benefit from high data quality, which enables them to provide sound advice and precise service organization; the members benefit from better and faster service. Maintenance costs have been reduced by 70 percent with Nuclos compared to the old application.
Optimum data quality and a high degree of automation
ARCD previously operated an individually developed web application to manage its members, which required a great deal of manual effort to operate. As part of the selection process for a new system, Nuclos came out on top against other well-known customer relationship management (CRM) applications. “The competitors’ applications were too rigid and inflexible, offered only isolated functions for CRM or business process management (BPM) or were unable to map our individual requirements at a reasonable price-performance ratio,” says Jürgen Dehner, Secretary General of ARCD. With the new ERP toolkit, all ARCD processes can now be displayed transparently. Excellent data quality is guaranteed at all times. In addition, the solution can be flexibly adapted to new requirements and enables a high degree of automation, which significantly reduces the workload of employees.
Equipped for all requirements
As an automobile club, ARCD places particularly complex requirements on its member administration. For this reason, it was not possible to simply adapt standard solutions from other sectors. With Nuclos, employees now have a comprehensive and detailed overview of ARCD members. This enables them to manage the respective services and communication with individual members quickly, flexibly and precisely. At the same time, other tasks such as merchandise management processes, order processing, payment transactions, dunning, form entry or document storage can be handled in the same system. Thanks to the precise job control, data processing procedures are shifted outside core times in a highly structured manner. Nuclos also has interfaces to insurance companies, which prevents process interruptions in insurance brokerage and service provision. As a result, both the members and ARCD itself benefit from the new ERP system.
Agile implementation process
“The introduction of Nuclos was characterized by an agile development process: In each project step, we first precisely defined the desired results in terms of functional scope. The Novabit experts implemented these consistently. In the event of deviations from the standard, flexible adjustments were made. Necessary further developments can also be carried out easily during live operation. We now benefit from ERP software that fits our processes perfectly and is also affordable. In addition, thanks to the elimination of license fees, we always keep the operating costs under control,” confirms Jürgen Dehner. Another advantage results from the open architecture of the ERP platform: since the go-live, the ARCD IT team has been able to make all adjustments and further develop the system itself with efficient personnel costs. This in turn saves costs and ensures independence from the provider.
