Schlüter optimizes quotation and sales processes for construction machinery with Nuclos Open Source ERP
– Quotation and project tool supports the entire sales process and the flexible configuration of construction machinery
Sauerlach, October 9, 2018 – Schlüter Baumaschinen GmbH, headquartered in Erwitte, North Rhine-Westphalia, has developed a flexible quotation and project tool with the free open source ERP toolkit Nuclos(www.nuclos.de). The business software solution allows construction machinery to be configured according to the customer’s individual requirements and wishes. The tool accompanies the entire process of a sales project – from initial customer contact to product configuration, preliminary costing and quotation preparation through to contract conclusion. Schlüter für Baumaschinen can thus streamline the entire sales-related value creation process, save costs and increase productivity. Customers benefit from individual products and offers that are precisely tailored to their needs.
Customer-specific adaptations thanks to open system architecture
Schlüter sells and rents out construction machines from premium manufacturers Komatsu and Sennebogen, provides services and equips the construction machines with attachments or control systems on request. When developing a corresponding quotation and project tool, maximum flexibility and the ability to customize processes were therefore important. The Nuclos open source ERP toolkit is ideally suited for this purpose: Due to the open modular principle, special adaptations to customer-specific processes can be implemented quickly and efficiently. Nuclos offers tools and modules that can be freely modified and configured according to requirements. Thanks to the intuitive operation and user guidance, no in-depth programming knowledge is required.
This enabled those responsible for construction machinery at Schlüter to develop a tailor-made solution for preparing quotations and managing projects. The new tool maps all technical configuration processes as well as business and sales-oriented processes. The construction machinery solutions of the partners can be flexibly combined with the company’s own product developments. Certain rules and dependencies are stored in the machine configurator that exclude unfeasible product combinations from the outset.
Optimization of the entire quotation process
“With Nuclos, we were able to set up our new software tool efficiently and individually. When we reached our limits with our own know-how, the experts from Novabit supported us quickly, competently and reliably. Thanks to Nuclos, we can now make the entire process of preparing quotations more continuous, uniform, secure and transparent. Since introducing the solution in 2012, we have generated more than 15,000 individual customer quotations with just 20 employees. We also save a considerable amount of money by eliminating license fees,” explains Franz Thiele, Head of IT Application Software at Schlüter Baumaschinen GmbH. The company is planning to expand the functionality of the quotation and project tool in the future: Customers should then be able to configure individual products directly on the website on their own initiative. “We will also implement this again with Nuclos,” reports Thiele.
