Kickbyte integrates Nuclos Open Source ERP into store and e-commerce solutions
– Customized and flexible merchandise management for online stores and online marketplaces
– Fast and individual adaptations to customer requirements
Sauerlach, August 8, 2017 – The Leipzig-based provider of shopware and e-commerce solutions Kickbyte uses the open source ERP construction kit Nuclos (www.nuclos.de) to seamlessly connect merchandise management systems to online stores and online marketplaces. The big advantage: Nuclos allows individual adaptations to customer-specific processes to be implemented quickly and flexibly. As a result, Kickbyte’s customers benefit from an ERP solution that is tailored precisely to their requirements and maps the processes in the customer’s company one-to-one. Nuclos contains all the necessary developer tools as well as a predefined graphical user interface (GUI) and does not require in-depth programming knowledge for every customization. Kickbyte can therefore keep development costs low and save costs for customers.
Open framework for individual development tasks
The Shopware specialist uses the open source ERP construction kit for three retail customers from different sectors, for example: a B2B furniture wholesaler, a B2C furniture retailer and a B2B scented candle distributor. With Nuclos, Kickbyte can optimally cover the respective requirements. This makes it very easy to implement interfaces to the online stores and other existing systems, synchronize processes, seamlessly transfer article master data to the merchandise management system (MMS) and process orders end-to-end. Nuclos acts as an open framework that offers all the functions required for the professional development of an ERP system. A database structure can be set up with just a few clicks. The integrated wizard also contains sophisticated tools for the automation of programming processes.
The solution allows all order and warehouse logistics processes to be mapped consistently and transparently: When an order is received via a sales channel, it is transferred directly to the MRP system. There, the data is available for further processes such as MRP planning, stock withdrawal or procurement from suppliers. The status of the order process can be called up at any time. Kickbyte had previously worked with another merchandise management system from a well-known manufacturer. However, this was very rigid. Although customer-specific adaptations could generally be made, they involved a great deal of effort and entailed corresponding costs.
Cost savings through quick adaptations
“With Nuclos, we and our customers benefit from a very flexible, customizable and future-proof tool. Thanks to the open development environment, we can respond precisely to our customers’ requirements and seamlessly integrate a merchandise management system with a comprehensive range of functions into their processes. The integrated toolbox makes the programming processes accessible and intuitive. Compared to the rigid predecessor system, we can now make individual adjustments much more quickly and cost-effectively. In addition, we can always rely on the support of the Nuclos team with short response times, workshops, training and ad-hoc support during development and use,” explains Nico Anders, Managing Director at Kickbyte.
